Copyright & trademark policy

Intellectual property

Intellectual property refers to a product of creativity, for example an image, design, story, invention, or symbol. It can be applied to tangible or intangible works.
Broadly speaking, intellectual property is owned by the creator of the work, the purchaser of intellectual property rights from the creator or previous owner, or a trademarked brand.
Intellectual property protection includes but is not limited to copyright, trademark, registered design, patent, and varies by country and region.
Copyright protects tangible original creative work, including but not limited to illustration, photography, literature, audio and visual recording, software, code, and website content.
A trademark protects the unique attributes of a brand, such as the name of a product or service. It can include words, sounds, logos, and colors.
